Survey results: how do you take yours?
At Opinion Outpost UK we recently ran an online poll to ask members about their survey-taking habits. Almost 10,000 of you took part, and we were fascinated to hear what you had to say.
Firstly, an overwhelming majority of you prefer to take paid surveys on a laptop. In spite of Ofcom’s survey saying that the population generally spend less time on laptops and more time on smart phones, it’s still the tech gadget of choice for survey taking. A quarter of you said you like to take surveys on a PC, with a tablet voted the least popular device.
When it came to asking where you take surveys, 9 out of 10 of our members take them when they are at home. It seems you’re a clever bunch though, and good at multi-tasking, as almost half of you admit to taking surveys whilst you are also doing something else (over a third of members take surveys whilst watching TV, and 1 in 5 take paid surveys when listening to music). It goes to show that survey taking in your spare time can be flexible enough to do pretty much whenever and however you like.
Of those who take surveys on the go, the most popular time to take part was during a break at work - when 1 in 5 members wisely use the time to earn money through sharing their opinion. Others use waiting times to take paid surveys (such as when waiting for a bus) and some take surveys whilst commuting to work. As most of our surveys are also available on smartphones and tablets, as well as PCs and laptops, this is a really great opportunity to take paid surveys and top up your earnings during your downtime.
Being able to take surveys on the go appealed to the majority of our members, especially when there are shorter surveys available. Nearly three quarters of you said you’d be more likely to take part if short surveys were available on mobile devices, which is why we are making more and more mobile-optimised surveys available for you to take part in.
Don’t forget, we also have a sister-app: QuickThoughts, which is available on both Apple and Android devices. It’s an easy-to-use app which lets you take fast and free paid surveys on your mobile device, in exchange for great rewards. Not many Opinion Outpost members are members of both panels yet, but it’s a really simple way of maximising your rewards and using your time efficiently to earn some extra money.
Finally, over half of our members say they are keen to recommend Opinion Outpost to friends and family, and another quarter think they will do in the future. With simple market research surveys giving you the chance to influence the products of the future, whilst getting paid at the same time, what’s not to love?
Thank you for taking part and for sharing your valued opinions. Together we can look forward to an exciting future full of rewards, points of view and even better brands.
