Online surveys reveal world's richest people
Online surveys by Forbes have recently revealed the richest people on the planet. It was also a record year for the world famous rich-list.
Online surveys reveal the rich are getting richer
In an eye-watering online survey on wealth, Forbes unearthed 2,043 billionaires this year – an increase of 13% from last year – which is a record number of billionaires in any one year.
Topping the Forbes online surveys revealing the world’s richest people is, fairly unsurprisingly, Bill Gates for the fourth year in a row. According to Forbes’ online surveys, he has been the richest person in the world for 18 out of the past 23 years, which is quite some accolade. His $86 billion fortune has increased from just a mere $75 billion last year.
Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Amancio Ortega and Mark Zuckerberg made up the rest of the top 5 respectively, who all boast fortunes of at least $56 billion each and above.
The billionaire who made the biggest increase in profit was Jess Bezos from Amazon. He received a pay rise of $27.6 billion this year, and is now worth $72.8 billion - moving into the top three richest people in the world for the first time - from number 5 last year. (This makes me feel quite a lot better about returning that book I accidentally ordered two of online.)
Online surveys reveal the nation with the most billionaires
There were 195 newcomers in the online survey rich list, including 15 self-made women who are new entries into the billionaire rich list. The U.S.A. still boasts more billionaires than any other country, with a record 565 (with 25 more billionaires than 1 year ago) whilst China is catching up with 319 billionaires, according to the online survey on super wealth.

A word of warning though – wait until pay day before you look through it. This year’s online survey of the rich list just might make you feel a little ill.
