Things I learned by taking surveys for cash
By Miss Moneypenny Saver
There’s a lot I’ve learned since I started taking part in online surveys for cash. Here’s some of what I’ve discovered so far.
Take surveys for cash with a reputable company
Now, I’m not saying there are cowboy companies out there necessarily – but I’ve been unlucky before when choosing companies who aren’t so well-known. Taking online surveys for cash shouldn’t mean an open invitation to receive spam, and you want to make sure there is support there in case you have any technical problems. Companies such as Opinion Outpost are fully contactable (the easiest way to get in touch is via direct message on Facebook
– to protect your data and keep it safe. You don’t really want to be contacted directly by the companies you review when you take surveys for cash.
Surveys for cash isn’t a ‘get rich quick’ scheme
Although taking surveys for cash is undoubtedly a great way to earn a bit of extra income, it’s not a get rich quick scheme. (The most legitimate ways of earning money in your spare time rarely are, I’ve found.) Think of it as the long game. Worried about having to spend a load of money at Christmas? Start taking paid surveys now, and build up your rewards over several months. The payout will be a pleasant surprise at the end of the year, believe me.
Don’t scream out when you screen out
Sometimes you won’t qualify for a survey. It’s a bit annoying when you ‘screen out’, but then the very nature of taking surveys for cash is that everyone is unique and has an individual experience and skill set. I will never qualify for everything, and it’s not an insult - just a fact. (For example: I really can’t be too cross when I meet the age requirements BUT don’t actually have any dogs for this new pet food survey.) Remind yourself you wouldn’t find it interesting anyway, take a deep breath, and move on.
Eat, sleep, survey, repeat
Keep in touch to make the most out of surveys for cash
One of the best ways to build up your rewards is by regularly taking surveys for cash. For me this means fitting them into my lifestyle: I may have 30 minutes before my favourite programme starts, so I’ll log in and see if there are any surveys that interest me. I might have a long train ride coming up, so I fill my time by making money for paid market research. It’s certainly true that companies like Opinion Outpost UK let you take surveys on the go, so it’s a great way to keep earning when you’re out and about. I also make sure I keep my email address up to date to receive survey alerts. After all - the more surveys for cash you take, the more money you’ll earn!
I never thought I’d actually earn money taking online surveys, but I have done. I’m no millionaire, but I do like to shop online – and taking surveys for cash means I can shop guilt-free by using the vouchers and money I’ve earned in my spare time. Overall though, I think I just really like saying what I think and sharing my ideas. Why not give it a try?
